Do not hire aftermath Our experience with Aftermath has been completely disgusting. They are ambulance chasers. Aftermath did nothing but delay our claim, hold up the claims process, and get caught lying to us on three occasions. They lied right to the state insurance commissioner, go ahead and contact Jennifer Welsh if you want to look into the ongoing case. Our house caught fire on December 9th, 2014. On December 23rd, we hired Aftermath to represent us in our claim. For the month and a half that Aftermath was employed by us, they did absolutely nothing, other than take our money. They claimed possession of every "first" dollar that processed through their facility, claiming that "they have the right to get paid first". I'm sorry, my house burnt down, not theirs, so why should they get paid first? They got paid without even lifting a finger from the first check written from the insurance company, a check that was written for the purpose of paying the cleaning service and even had that written in the memo of the check. In a month and a half, Aftermath charged us $4,600 and delivered absolutely no services. If anything, they faxed several pieces of paper to our insurance company. Is that worth $4,600, I don't think so. By the end of our contract with Aftermath, they had laid claim to our entire contents check, and didn't do anything to earn it, other than delay our claims process. DO NOT HIRE A PUBLIC ADJUSTER. Call your Insurance Commissioner, and follow their advice. If you hire a public adjuster, the state insurance commissioner has no jurisdiction over them and cannot do anything. If you hire a public adjuster, you are giving money to a company that will do nothing to help your claim. Your insurance company has guidelines that they must follow, and if they don't, go to the commissioner and have the issue resolved. AGAIN, DO NOT HIRE A PUBLIC ADJUSTER, ESPECIALLY AFTERMATH PUBLIC ADJUSTERS!!!
